Our membership has voted in favor of the by-law change as follows: The Board proposes By-laws Article VI, Cash and Fund Management, be amended to (1) include an annual Board of Directors budget review and approval of planned expenditures for key activities and functions; and (2) stipulate that expenditures over $2,000 be approved at the Annual Membership Meeting. The Lake Washburn Association (LWA hereafter) has contracted to treat Eurasian Water Milfoil, an aquatic invasive species in Washburn Lake in 2026. The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources has granted the LWA a waiver of the requirement that the association obtain the signatures of approval of owners of lakeshore property.
